Perfection

Glean

Ripples filter across the lake in a bid to cross the other side. The glean of the moon infinite, but fleeing. In mere seconds, the sun will replace its glow and life will begin anew.

I love this time of day.

I am alone and it gives me time to think about what I need to do next. Crickets play their song like perfect, tiny violinists. No string or bow needed. Nature, a beautiful symphony of sounds and colours.

My mobile rings out of nowhere, an alarm I set for this time of the day, to remind me, wherever I am, to look out the window. Today, there is no need to move, just to gaze in wonder at nature’s wonder.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
