Car Boot

All once loved items stored in a boot

Our car carrying all of our loot

A box of Lego, in all sorts of colours

Old children’s clothes, ornaments, books

Once loved items deserve a second look.

When my mother-in-law was alive we went to many a car boot, and have carried on tradition. There is a joy in finding something for nothing, but giving something a second use. Books, clothes, and even old games, all at a great price.

I love a good car boot, and it gets you out of the house, and there is always a bargain to be found. I’ve sold a box of Lego, probably for next to nothing, but it would have been stored in a room, not used. Someone found an ornament at a car boot worth thousands. Games, that our children played with, no worth more money because they are classed as antiques.

During lockdown there weren’t many car boots, but it is getting better now. It is a safer way to buy things, out in the fresh air. A morning out, and you always know how much you spend.

There is always something.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
