Great British Weather

Another chance to read my post, couldn’t find a February https://fivedotoh.com/2023/02/10/fandangos-flashback-friday-february-10th/

English weather can be quite fickle at times, and we are not adverse to having snow in the afternoon, followed by sun a few hours later. I have had a barbecue in February because it was twenty five degrees.

Saturday it was 18 degrees, and today my winter coat was worn because the temperature is now 4 degrees. Tomorrow, it could be warm or cold depending on the weather’s mood.

I am cold today, and my husband asked if I wanted a salad. He wants to be healthy, but I need something warming, so he is making fried rice. I don’t cook in the week because I work all day. The last thing I want to do is cook, or wash up.

I love being in the UK, we are lucky enough not to have major weather, and when we get a few inches of snow, the country slows to a halt. We are not adverse to snow days. If you drive through my estate, there are many snowmen. My dog loves running in the snow, and it is the only time my husband will go out to the park to walk our dog.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. I spent a week in London and the weather was good the whole time. I like all the shopping and the English Breakfast was wonderful. The room I stayed in had a gigantic tub, much bigger than the ones that we have in the US, so I decided to take a bath and it was nice being able to fit without having to scrunch up my legs.
