Who was your favorite teacher?
My favourite teachers were Mr and Mrs Bobbett. They were kind and I remember them being patient with all the students.
My worst teacher, or rather the scariest was the deputy head at my secondary school. She was terrifying. I still remember being sent to her because me and my mate were laughing in class, and wouldn’t stop when told to. My friend went in before me, but when she came out smiled. I couldn’t stop giggling and was given one hundred lines.
I was part of the singing, and recorder club. I am tone deaf. I cannot sing to save my life. My children didn’t like me singing lullabies. We used to go and sing to the pensioners at our local community hall. It was a good job they were deaf. I loved drama. I played a dancer and someone’s mother, but I enjoyed being part of the group.
We didn’t have prom when I went to school.
My favourite subject was English, but one teacher used to throw a board rubber when students were talking. I soon learnt to duck when the boy behind me wouldn’t stop.
What clothes were in style? Well leg warmers – basically like socks but without the feet. Corduroy trousers, and glitter in your hair.
I walked to school, but didn’t like it. I was bullied as a child and followed home by them. I should have told someone, but I didn’t. If I had my time over again, I would never keep the bullying secret.
I had school lunch, which was terrible. Semolina, liver, and tapioca pudding to name but a few monstrosities. Wouldn’t mind, but Mum worked in the school kitchens and I got them for tea as well. Did not like liver the first time round. I was glad to go to secondary school where I lived off chips.

I played netball, but wasn’t very good at it. I played goal defence.
When I went to school there was the cane for boys and slipper for girls. I never had this happen to me, but my music teacher rapped me over the knuckles with a ruler for asking for a rubber. I refused to cry, even when I was sent out. She left me alone after that.
Sorry no school photo.
