QUESTIONS from Sparks From A Combustible Mind

Has anyone ever tried to scam you?

I have had the usual emails, telling me about some prince in Africa, needing a hand out, but I tend to delete them. I had a phone call from someone calling from ”Vodafone”, saying I was due a refund. I refused to give out my bank details, but answered a few questions. It was only afterwards I thought ”shall I check if this is real”. When I phone them it was a scam. I immediately phoned my bank to warn them. My husband had thousands taken out of his bank from an unknown direct debit. Thankfully they paid him back, but it is easy to be scammed.

What’s the best thing about parties?

Being with family, catching up on what they have been up too. A lot of drinking (tea? lol) Having a laugh, and knowing you are part of a wonderful group of nutty people.

Do you listen to people’s advice if you didn’t ask for it?

I listen to constructive advice and often give some of my own. However I don’t listen to my own advice when I should listen.

Why is it impossible to spell funeral without fun?

Even when going to a funeral you are meeting up with the nutty bunch of people you love so much. You can remember a life, and the person you will always love. They are part of your heart that nobody can take away.

GRATITUDE SECTION

How was last week for you? Tiring. It was my first week back at work. I was exhausted to the point of going to sleep around nine o’clock in the evening. I missed being with my daughter and grandchild. Who today I asked (she is understanding what is being said to her now) who am I? Granddad or Grannie. She very clearly said Grannie (so proud). My daughter, Mum, is asking her to bring things and she clearly understands. We are trying to teach her to say Granddad Grumps, and even Granddad doesn’t mind.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
