Sharing My World

Our questions from SHARE YOUR WORLD 6-27-2022, this week are

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off? If you’re retired, what’s something you now include in your schedule that you dreamed about while employed? It depends, but I’m always busy doing something. I hate sitting around. Sometimes I am blogging. Sometimes I go out with my daughter. We went Pokémon hunting on Saturday – on the Pokémon Go app. My daughter grew up in the nineties and she installed the app on my phone. I quite enjoy going on community days because you get to meet some nice people.

Now that Covid isn’t so strictly monitored and folks can go out and about again, are you into after-work happy hours? I still think we need to be careful of where we go, and what we do. Although, I work in a school, so I am more likely to catch it there than in my free time. I don’t wear a mask anymore, but I tend to keep boxes of the lateral flow to hand so I can test myself if I feel like I have a cold. It is more because I don’t want to give COVID to my son, daughter, husband, and granddaughter. My son, me and my husband have never had COVID, but that doesn’t mean we won’t.

What physical traits do you share with your relatives? (Example:  I have my mother’s nose) I look like my mum, and we are doubles of each other at the same age. I have my dad’s hazel eyes though, and the dimple that was in his chin. Most of the girls in our family look the same, and more than once, when we were younger, I was asked if my niece was my sister.

How long does it take you to decide if you like someone or not? I tend to give people chances, and my dislikes and likes are more if I can trust a person or not. I haven’t disliked someone on sight, and will at least give that person a chance to redeem themselves.

I am grateful I live in a country where I have the freedom of speech. To be able to say I am angry about certain government policies, without worrying about what I am saying.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
