This week, Fandango’s Provocative Question #FPQ is in regards to length of posts.
To be honest, I have a really short attention span, especially when I have just got home from work. I will read the first page, but because I am tired, I tend to skim read the rest. I’m enjoying the post, but I can’t concentrate for long periods of time.
I tend to write fairly short posts, which normally are under five hundred words. I rarely go over that. Sometimes I have put snippets of my books in there, which would only be a chapter, and they are longer.
It depends on the person, lets face it, there are people who read solely of kindle, and they are more than five hundred words.
I find the glare of the screen distracting, so I can’t read for too long. My eyes get tired, and I need to look away from the screen. I’ve always preferred paper, or hard backed books. Normally I need complete quiet, and no other noises around me. But there are many, who don’t mind. I think you just have to find the right audience for you.
Whatever the size of post, there needs to be something engaging for the reader, something different, new, or interesting to your reader. Let’s be honest, we are all learning our craft here, and we won’t get it right every time.
agree with you Diana!
Its up to each person how they read/respond to posts!
