I wrote this poem a few years ago for a writing class I attended at the time. It is about the day I met my bestie Theresa. It was my first day at secondary school, and I remember thinking, she looks friendly. I took a chance, and forty-five years later we are still besties.
A FRIEND IN TIME
My heart pounding in my chest,
Imagination to reveal the rest,
I crept towards this friendly face,
With an increasing fumbling grace,
Every moment caught in time,
Wishing courage would stay mine,
But several times I tried to turn,
But then knew I would never learn
That true friendship can overturn
My Fears…
Awwww, it’s wonderful when you know right away that someone is going to be your best friend throughout life. ^_^

This is beautiful and I met both of my best friends this way, one when I was in the 8th grade and my adult friend when I was 33 years old!! 💝😊
