Phobic?

Sadie’s https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/category/sunday-poser/ this week is about technology. I would like to think I am okay with technology, and willing to learn new things. Although I always have to ask my daughter how it works first, but once I do, then I am okay.

I remember my husband, when he was on a computer for the first time, being the typical old generation and asking every five seconds what he needed to do. Simple things like the cross on the top right corner, things like that. Now he is on his laptop more than I am, and doesn’t need that much help anymore.

There is certain technology I struggle with, mainly with appliances in the kitchen. The timer on my (husband’s birthday present) cooker is something I cannot get to grips with. Mind you, it didn’t work at first, but something happened when my smart meter got installed, and is suddenly decided to switch on. Car parks are another thing I struggle with, mainly because my card doesn’t like their system.

We are all learning, and I learnt something this year. When my play, ”The Kingswood Beast” aired, it was on VR360, and I learnt how to use the equipment. It still feels strange that you can type in The Kingswood Beast, and people will be able to watch my play.

So, I’m not really tech phobic, but I always have to ask when using something new.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
