I Will Survive

Sunday Confessionals this Sunday is to find our favourite quote and write a story, poem, or narrative about it. My quote is ”I will Survive”. Well not exactly a quote, but a song by Gloria Gaynor. A song, when I was growing up, helped me through a time when I was bullied.

I will survive

the bullies. Their cruel words

taunting, saying

I’m not good enough.

Whatever they say

it doesn’t matter. They don’t know

me. I know me, and

I will survive.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
