Home Again

For http://lindaghill.com/2022/09/23/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-sept-24-2022/ is home.

Home isn’t a building, with bricks, and a roof.

It is the place where those I love are, whether it be those I live with (husband, son) or those who live nearby (daughter, granddaughter) Or those who live further away (nieces, nephews, brother, family).

Home is where there is the love that surrounds us – I might not see them every day, but I always think of them. Moving further away, but closer to my daughter was a difficult decision because I was leaving my son behind. He visited every month, but now Jack (my son) and his best friend live with us. Moving into their own house fell through because of COVID. When they asked to stay it was an easy answer.

When I visit my family in Berkshire, I cherish those times, but we are only ever a phone call away.

Being with family is where I feel most at home.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
