Politico – It’s an Opinion

Reena has given us her challenge this week, using the word Politico

‘It’s all so politico at the moment,’ David said.

‘Not heard of that word, what does it mean?’

His grandmother, not the typical person you would expect, would spend most of her time out of the house rather than in. To be fair, he only heard this word today. When she was at home, she would binge watch the latest shows, and write.

‘It means someone with strong political views Grannie.’

‘Ooh, that’s a good one, just let me write it down, I could use that in my next novel.’

She always had a note pad by her chair, and several unfinished novels on her computer. Although, he still had her signed copy of her book, just in case she got famous.

‘Politico, that’s a good one.’

‘How is you latest novel going Grannie?’

‘Slowly, although it would be a lot quicker if the latest episodes of I Zombie weren’t on. It is really good, and I’m on season four already. I have done some writing, but it is all a bit rubbish.’

‘You always say that, but you have to be confident.’

‘Got to sell some books to be confident.’

‘Maybe, but you will get there. I mean, if it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be working in a publishing house. Your letter really helped me get the job. I could help you write a query letter would that help?’

‘Ooh yes, at the ripe old age of eighty, I could do with an agent.’

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
