Favourite

What is your favorite music genre? Why is it your favorite? If you have more than one genre that you prefer, what are they?

I think, if I had to choose pop/rock.

My favourite singer is Bon Jovi, and I have loved his music from when I was a teenager. I remember making a mixed tape for my niece (showing my age) as she liked the same singer.

My favourite song, to blast out is Living on a Prayer.

When I was twelve, an uncle I never knew I had gifted me his collection of records, from Abba, Punk, fifties music (These Boots are made for Walking) sixties music, to some unusual ones like ”My Old Man’s a Dustman”. I can’t write it down without the song in my head.

To be honest, it isn’t the genre so much, as the song. A more modern one I like is ”This is me!” from the greatest showman. It’s the words that resonate with me, rather than the artist.

I’m not the greatest vocalist, my pitch is too high, and I can’t get the low notes. My kids used to beg me not to sing lullabies. My granddaughter puts her hands over her ears. I love singing in the car though, because I can’t hear how bad it is, and it helps take some of the stress away. There is another song ”I’m so Overwhelmed,” which is a favourite song of both me and my daughter.

My husband likes the Eurovision song contest. I don’t know why, but I cannot listen to all of the songs. The UK never get any votes, even when the song is good. Although we came second last year, so it is getting better. I tend to write on my computer when it is on.

We both like the same music, he has so many CD’s, but nothing to play them on. Not sure why he keeps them lol.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
