Trouble

“The fundamental cause of the trouble is that, in the modern world, the stupid are sure they are right, while the intelligent are full of doubts.” You only have to go on social media to see a variety of people with views they wouldn’t say out loud. Not so much on Word press, but Twitter and Facebook have some, let us just say, opinionated people.

I’m not saying we should all think the same, but my mum’s words are in my head. If you can’t think of something nice, don’t say it. We will not all agree, our lives are to varied and too different. We have been brought up differently. I would like to think my parent’s views, were changed when I had my own ideas. I too have learnt of my children, understood things I never thought I would.

There will always be people out there causing trouble, but we need to use our common sense. Not everything is true on Facebook! Who would have thought? Not every news feed is true either. It is only ever one person’s opinion on something that has happened.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Agreed! Not every negative thought needs to be expressed in public. FB is a full of nastiness and repetitive memes, which is why I limit my time there. I’ve left Twitter and TikTok and Insta. None of them are uplifting…

  2. I think it’s not just the negative, but also the lack of critical thinking and a willingness to believe everything people read on Facebook and Twitter without giving it any thought and then passing it on as if it’s real, valid information.
