Call of the Wild

Written in response to https://lindaghill.com/2023/03/03/the-friday-reminder-and-prompt-for-socs-march-4-2023/ Wild is the word we are given today, my post isn’t quite wild, but today we brought our Brother-in-law’s Jack Russel to live with us.

It will be a slow introduce, as outside, in the wild, my dog doesn’t really like other dogs, or to be accurate, male dogs. We should be alright with Molly. She was the louder of the two, telling my dog what for. I was so proud of him, he was more anxious if anything.

I hope they get along, as it would be nice for him to have the company, nice for her too. She was living with the dog walker, and it was heart-breaking because they had grown close to her.

At least we know, if it doesn’t work out at our house, they would be more than willing to take her back. It is my Brother-in-law’s dog, so he wanted her close by. He is in a care home, and wanted to see her more. I understand how they feel, if it were me, I would miss her terribly.

(A year on, and Molly is still part of our family. Titan is neither scared or violent with his older sister).

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. When David and I reconnected ten years ago, he had three dogs and I had two. The first thing we did when he moved here was to walk them together as a pack. Moving in the same direction seems to work better than face to face. There were still challenges, but they all eventually got to comfortable coexistence. Best wishes.
