Favourite

This week for their https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/category/sunday-poser/ is the question; Do you have a favourite topic that you write about often.

I tend to write stories, where there are strong female leads, who are often victimised at the start, but manage to go on a journey. I prefer a strong female lead because that is how I see myself. Bullied as a child, I have survived, and won’t let anything beat me. I’m not sure what they call my writing style, domestic noir, for my novel ”It Won’t Happen Again”. The book I am writing now, is more thriller, which I am finding difficult to write, but it is centred on ”Sarah”, who is losing her sight, while trying to find her husband’s killer. She is a reporter, investigating crossing county lines, and feels everything she touches goes wrong.

For me their journey is the most important thing in my books, finding out they are stronger than they think they are. From Alison, to Martha, to Sarah, I wanted the topic to be strength.

The only book I wrote, a children’s story, was about a young boy, growing up without his dad. Finding out he can turn into a dragon. I wrote the book, but it would need work to make it worth publishing.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
