Beyond Our Control

Written for Tranquil Thursday

  • How do you manage stressors that are outside your control?

A teacher I worked with said a phrase, I try and work with. ”This soon will pass”. She is correct. If we cannot control something, then be kind to yourself, rather than getting stressed about that situation.

  • How do you tune out the noise of the crowds?

I don’t like crowds – I tend to think about the person I am with, or I just think about something else while I am walking through the crowd.

  • What so you do when you do not know what to do?

I stop, watch television, or do something creative. Whether I am painting, writing, or building something. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t work.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
