One Set – Never Alone

Written for https://reinventionsreena.wordpress.com/2023/04/20/reenas-xploration-challenge-277/

From footprints in the sand ”The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

Whether you are religious or not, this is something I always remember. When going through tough times in my life, I didn’t feel like I was facing it alone – even if I couldn’t put it into words for other people to hear.

We all go through times when we struggle, but this sentence makes me feel like there will always be someone there. It always reminds me of my dad, and the poem was one of his favourite pieces of prose. It makes me feel like he is watching over me as a guardian angel.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
