People

I think, at my age, being a people pleaser isn’t something I am too concerned with. As another blogger posted, you cannot please everyone. Sometimes you need to think of yourself. I was brought up to be polite, caring, and understanding of other people’s feelings.

We don’t get on with everyone, all of the time. I wouldn’t expect everyone to like me. As humans, we each have our own personalities. Sometimes we clash, and that is to be expected. It is how we treat others that matter. I was always taught, don’t say something, you wouldn’t want said to you.

That is more important on social media, because I would add to Mum’s advice. Don’t say anything on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, you wouldn’t want said to you. It is alright to disagree, but don’t be horrible.

Don’t people please for its own sake because they will never know when you feel uncomfortable. Personal space is just as important on social media.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
