Forget

There are some things I cannot forget, even if I wanted to.

Being bullied, over a two year period, every day – no it is impossible to forget. Do I forgive the bullies – I’m not sure. If they said sorry, and meant it, then maybe. I just don’t feel like they would be sorry. Even as an adult, they decided to carry on with the torment.

That being said, I don’t harbour a grudge. I probably wouldn’t recognise them if they walked past me. I would like to think, if they carried on as adults, I would defend myself, by walking away, not giving them the bullets to fire me with.

There are some things you cannot forget, because in remembering it gives you the power to fight back.

You won’t let it happen again.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
