Stevie lived at 114 Baker Street for most of her life. Born at Wexham Park Hospital, only a few miles away. Now, this would be the last time she could walk out of the door, calling it her home.
Her mum smiled all the way to her eyes as she stepped on to the pavement. Glorious in white, her wedding outfit was perfect. A long white, flowing dress, with roses round the waist. Her veil held a special meaning – interlinked with her partners favourite flower – where they first went on a date, and she was given bluebells.
‘You look beautiful Stevie, she will be lucky to have you.’
‘Thank you Mum, I just wish Dad was here to see me get married.’
‘He would have been so proud my darling, to see you happy was something he wanted to see. Your first marriage, it wasn’t right, not for you. I can see Charlotte makes you smile again.’
‘Do you think he would have understood.’
Her mum took her hand and led her down the stairs. ‘Your dad, he understood better than you think. He would have been so proud. You are kind, full of so much love, and you are meant for each other.’
A gentle breeze, as she closed the door for good, and she was sharing her special day with her dad. She was going to be married, and this time with the right person. Nothing was for certain but his approval was.
A lovely story with a happy ending Diana. Thank you for joining in.

That’s beautiful, a lovely reminder that even if we can’t see the ones we love they can still share in the big moments with us.
