Do I like the age I am now? That is a good question, which hasn’t got a simple answer.
I certainly have more freedom. To promote independence for myself, in the evenings mostly. I get to write more than I did, when I was a mum with children. Grown ups, they aren’t as dependent on me. Yes, I am always on speed dial, but they love their own space too.
The part I hate is the aches, pains, and the knowledge I have lived more, than I have left. It is strange, but working in a school seems to make the months rush by. As a girl, it took ages for my birthday to arrive. Now, it speeds by at a rate of knots. Is it nearly March already?
There are many things I am proud of, and didn’t do until a few years ago. My novel ‘‘It Won’t Happen Again’’, finally self published. A VR360 play, performed by actors, and shown at my local theatre. A poem, last year, in a anthology called ‘‘The Pride of Britain.’’
Whatever life has in store for me, I am not going to stop.
My main aim, is to prove to my granddaughter, that anything is possible. When a female author in her eighties was given a publishing contract, it is important to believe.
Congrats on all of your achievements! It is important to believe, keep believing, and never give up hope!
