As my blog name suggests, I could write effortlessly about Harry Potter. I have watched every film at least ten times. I have read every book the same amount of times.
My daughter was the same age as the main protagonist when it was first published. I read to her before she went to sleep. We queued up at midnight once, and we both cried when Dumbledore died.
I love all the characters, especially the Weasley family. They weren’t the richest, or the most powerful, but there was a strong sense of love. My favourite was their clock, and pointing to imminent danger in the last few films.
McGonagall, Snape, Flitwick, Sprout, Trelawney, Umbridge, Slughorn, Lupin, Moody, and Dumbledore were great teachers. You even felt a little sorry for Voldemort because of his childhood.
A few years ago, on a school trip, I visited Elstree Studios in the UK. It was brilliant because I got to practice wand skills, and travel on a broom. I still have the photograph. There was real life models of Privet Drive, Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, Platform 9 and 3 quarters, The Hogwarts express and at the end there was a shop. Although, I reckon they could have made it more like the Wizards Weezley’s joke shop.
We still spent enough money though; mostly on chocolate frogs. It was extremely expensive. I love a car boot because there are many merchandise you can purchase and a fraction of the price.
I have also watched The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series. Although, at the end of the third film, saying he was related to Dumbledore because of Fawkes was a bit annoying (Dumbledore only had a brother, and Ariana (his sister, who died as a child).
There is a rumour that there is going to be a film based on the play ”The Cursed Child”. Guess who will be watching that?
Harry potter is awesome! I watched all the movies too! I have not read all of the books, yet, though. Xo

Definitely a great series. I enjoyed the Fantastic Beasts series, but I agree that they ignore the established canon a bit, especially in the last two.
And my wife and I will be there as well if they ever turn Cursed Child into a film.

I grew up with Harry Potter and I watched the movies, though I got a late start on the books. Everyone read them in my school and I remember reading the Philosopher’s Stone in the school library.
Back then I always thought I was Griffyndor or a Ravenclaw, but I realise I am more of a Hufflepuff in real life ❤️

My son is a hufflepuff, so is my husband and daughter. Her partner is Slytherin.

I’ve seen the movie at least twice and read the books too. But you are the master on HP here. Thanks for sharing Diana.

In my time I’ve enjoyed all the Harry Potter movies and the Fantastic Beasts too – but I haven’t actually read any of the books, although my eldest granddaughter (aged 12) has! She’s the real Hogwarts fan in the family 🙂
