I rest here, watching the dusk rise and fall to my doubts. A dad to a little girl, and sometimes it is overwhelming to admit I struggle with finding the real me. Today isn’t the first time I have felt frightened. I yearn to give my daughter the moon, but that’s not possible. When she asks for a fairy doll, all I can do is take her to the park.
I sit beside my hero, as he talks about the sun setting, and all the beautiful colours roaming through the amazing sky. I wanted the new toy for my birthday, but he told me he didn’t have enough money. Did I want to go to the park instead? It was a brilliant afternoon, and we took a picnic.
‘Love you, Daddy, can we go again tomorrow?’
Such a sweet and moving story Diana. Children do understand the predicaments of their parents. Thanks for joining in.

Sometimes we worry about the small things, when all our children want is to spend time with us.
