I never knew my dad’s brother until I was twelve years old. When we met, I must have said I enjoyed listening to records because he kindly gave me a selection of vinyl.
It was an eclectic bunch, from Abba, Punk Rock, Pop, sixties and fifties.
‘‘These boots are made for walking’’ was a favourite, with ‘‘I will Survive’’, by Gloria Gaynor. There is a special sound digital lacks. Even the crackle brings back memories of sitting in my bedroom, singing along to my music.
When we moved, I sold many of them. However, this one broke when I accidentally dropped something heavy on it.
My record player, brought as a Christmas present, as an adult, and I should play it more often.
I wonder what my teenage self would think of me?
She would say, take time, grab a hairbrush and sing, it doesn’t matter you are out of tune, be proud.
You have survived.
great memories , I like where the prompt took you 💜💜

A lot of people prefer the analog sound quality that you get with vinal records over CDs.
