Jaguar

‘Why is this car so cheap? I mean £1500 for a classic vehicle.’

Buying second hand was always difficult.

‘As you can see, the body work is in excellent condition.’

A test drive, and this Jaguar sounded okay, but there must be something wrong with it. She thought about the way the brakes screeched or the gears crunched in two.

There were probably parts that needed to be repaired.

‘I’ll pay you one thousand,’ she said.

‘It’s a steal at the original price.’

‘Yes, but we both know the gears will need replacing, besides there is paper in the driver’s side door.’

‘Alright, it is a deal.’

Mary was glad she worked in a garage, and that she could get it working without too much cost. She could fix it herself, and have a car that would last her a few years.

She loved Morse, and this car was perfect.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
