Book club meets every month, and the Facebook post intrigued me.
Concentrating on my novel; to write a synopsis is like flying without a parachute. How do you write an entire story on a single page? I finished (nearly) on Sunday. Now for the cover letter. Help!
It was easy to make excuses to avoid going.
I have said I will attend the group, backed out because socially I am better when there is a computer screen between me and meeting new writers, or readers. Part of my reluctance is also working full time and wanting to stay at home. My choice a hot coffee, warm pyjamas, and my favourite show.
The last book I read took me three months. My Kind of Happy, a romantic tale of a woman who has suffered loss, and finding a list that her brother made before he died in a motorbike accident. From an admin role to florist, and the author Cathy Bramley inspires the reader to find a happy place.
Sleep, by C.L. Taylor, calls to me from my table. The introduction, ‘‘Seven Guests, Seven Secrets. One Killer. Sounds intriguing. Even if I read a chapter a night, that is a start. You never know, I might be so enthralled by the story, I will want to follow each character to the finale.
Hopefully, it will inspire me to actually go to the club and meet new friends.
I totally empathise 💜💜

Some things are best done by oneself. Do what is right for the time.

I agree, and possibly when it gets lighter.

It’s a struggle to find time for new activities, specially that involves socializing. Thanks for joining in with this very realistic take.
