Happiness

Should she eat this? She joined the slimming group to lose weight, and she was pretty sure this wasn’t friendly to her stomach. Dieting caused her to be a few pounds lighter. Did it bring her happiness? She dreamt about eating something other than fat-free yoghurt for months.

She searched the restaurant; spotting another member devour a plate of pie, mash, and beans.

Helen’s spoon soon dipped into the creamy custard, its colour like a perfect sunrise; she couldn’t stop smiling. Soul food. Dipping into the smooth golden liquid covering the treacle pudding, she swiftly finished her meal of the gods.

Delicious, she thought, thinking about a large cider to wash it down.

Tomorrow was weighing day, however she had been good all week, and she deserved her favourite to celebrate being fabulous.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
