All Jack needed was ten pounds.
He slipped the card into the slot, hoping it would allow him to draw some money out. A gas bill due; he understood they would not be pleased. He tapped his pin number on the machine, not checking the balance. He could feed himself for two days until his pension arrived in his account.
Money safe in his pocket, he smiled.
Ah, the days of cutting it so close you can see the bone. I remember them well. Excellent six.

All too often too much month left over at the end of the pay check. I know how that feels!

Hubby gets paid tomorrow with his works pension, then we both get our State pension next week, and my works pension goes in on the 1st. We shall be doing our big for the month shop then !
