Full of Colour

Mary gripped the soft silk or her designer dress. She was told delicate petals enhanced the ginger highlights in her hair. The trouble was, it wasn’t real to wear something she would be afraid to eat cake in.

She wanted to marry Joel; more than the sea washed against the shore. Whispering each morning; I love you all she dreamed about for months.

Her mother wanted a wedding brimmed with opulence.

As a girl, she dreamt of an afternoon full of colour; along with bright purple hair, a floppy dress.

‘You got to tell her, sis!’

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
