Pareidolia – Cloud Watching

Written for https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/category/sunday-poser/

As a child, I loved laying on the grass and watching the clouds go by. I would point out each shape with my friend, and it was a brilliant game. If I witnessed a swan, a horse-drawn carriage, or a deer, we would spend the afternoon in joyful company. Phsycological and part of who we are.

When I had children, I would play the same game with them.

Does it have a name? Yes. I am now aware it is called Pareidolia.

I suppose most authors have this situation, due to our pattern recognition in everything. Like seeing a secret entrance in a group of trees. A few weeks ago, I remember looking out of a window and seeing different breeds of dogs.

Our imaginations find something brilliant in the oridinary.

That is a beautiful talent to have.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
