Word prompts – together as one

Burnt Offerings

Burnt offerings, Cliff Edge, and terrified – All these words go together nicely in one charred package.

My first attempt with a microwave didn’t end well. Burnt offerings, and my doughnuts looked they had been terrified by a terrible dragon. I opened the door, and took them from this new fangled machine. At a cliff edge, the plate was tipped, and the charred remains thrown in the bin. How long had I put them in for? Five minutes – to be fair I reckon I was lucky not to have burnt the house down.

True story, back when microwaves were new.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
