Word Prompts – Newspaper, Striate and Pin.

Reposted for https://fivedotoh.com/2022/09/30/fandangos-flashback-friday-september-30th/

This is my take on three great word prompts.

I remember days when my husband brought a newspaper. He would ignore pinned shocking headlines and go straight to the football page. More specifically if Chelsea were playing the day before.

He rarely read the whole striation of paragraphs. Once he finished, I read the rest – not that it was that interesting. Most of the articles were about celebrities and gossip.

Tabloids never ran a story based on fact.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Good combination of prompts. We get the New York Times because it was a very good deal. This weekend, we got half the Sunday paper, and two tabloid-type New York papers. What a difference in how “news” is handled.
