Urbane – from A Daily Word prompt

‘How very normal of you,’ he says, and I don’t think he has listened to a word I’ve said.

That’s the trouble with being married to an estate agent, they are always thinking of the next house to sell, and how to make is sound like the perfect place to live. ‘It is in an excellent Urbane area,’ he says, as if to make his point.

‘That’s just tech speak for it is the middle of a town. I told you I didn’t want to move to a town, I prefer a little village, with lots of quaint houses.’

‘Then we’ll have to move then won’t we.’

‘Yes, but not to an Urbane area.’

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
