In most cultures compassion is something people aspire to. Especially this time of year. Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not. Whether you celebrate Christmas, or Eid or Diwali.
Kindness and compassion are free to give. They cost nothing, but what you get in return is a sense of doing good for the community around you.
We live in a world where everyone and everything seems to have a price tag on it. There are many, that don’t just live on the breadline, but are scared of losing their homes; especially when their children sees an advert, or is told by other children what they are getting this year.
I agree with the statement that don’t tell your child that the expensive gift came from Santa. Don’t forget their are children, who are not so fortunate, and will think they have been forgotten.
Some shops have a section where you can leave a gift for those who are not so well off. There are many homeless people on the streets, some with animals they cannot afford to feed. It doesn’t take much to help but means so much.
