Did you, or did you collect every piece of art your children/grandchildren ever made?
I did, and at one point had a whole cupboard full of them, until my Mother-in-law said it was way too much, so instead I took a few and put them in a scrap book. Every now and then I will take them out and look at them to remind myself of when they were young.
Do you collect art pieces that bring you joy?
I don’t collect art, but I have been given a paint by numbers for my birthday. One is of my dog Titan. I also have one of my first dog Scamp. It is brilliant and looks like him (which is weird)
Do you look for calendars that have beautiful pictures because they are a treat to look at?
Not really, but I’m all about the words, and beautiful verses.
Do you prefer journals with beautiful art on them?
Most of my journals are Harry Potter themed, not arty in any way.
Do you have an artistic talent? Have you ever taken classes to improve your art?
No, but I’m great at painting by numbers, I loved seeing something beautiful be created by a few paint strokes.
Thanks for joining in. I believe paint by number is an art. I cannot even do those. As a child I must have been given at least ten kits. I was never successful. Not even once.
I once collected tons of Potter paraphernalia. I had a glass cabinet in my classroom filled with thrift store Potter “finds.” When I retired, I gifted my treasure to my students. One young lady that wanted the lunch box was very excited. She told me she was going to give it to her younger brother because she read to him from the series. It made me happy.

Anything that inspires them to read is a great thing. I have many Harry Potter things in my collection, from pens, to a picture of the Marauder’s Map. I have glasses, cups, and many Harry Potter items, including a picture book with the story inside. The sets I’ve been given are Japanese, and really easy to do. My painting of Scamp is so realistic.

My mother loved paint-by-number sets and I recall fondly the pieces she worked on with such diligence. Creation, no matter of its form, is an artistic expression in my opinion. There is a company that creates paint-by-numbers from photos. I have always thought that would be fun. Thanks for joining the challenge again this week.

That is the company my daughter and son used for my present. My painting of ”Scamp”, my old dog is amazingly realistic. I can’t wait to paint ”Titan”, my Rottweiler/German Shepard cross,
