What is your least favorite holiday side dish? (for any holiday) Sprouts, they have no place on a Christmas Dinner.
What is the ugliest or most tasteless decoration you’ve ever seen? I think any decoration deserves to be on the tree, no matter how ugly. It is beautiful to someone else.
What is a cherished or unusual (either or both) family tradition from your childhood? (this is the recycled Evil Squirrel question that got bungled by moi, and sounded like a packaging question. My bad). Not from my childhood, but the day before Christmas is my daughter’s boyfriend’s birthday. We always have a take away.
You’re walking down the street, feeling great — what holiday song would be playing in the background? (aw, play along. I realize some of you prefer a very silent night. It is an option to pass on this question too. No offense will be taken). Snow is falling, all around me, children singing having fun.
I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

Thanks for Sharing Your Festive World Diana! Wonderful answers, and the song (which is niggling at my brain pan now) is a wonderful pick! Take-away is a nice way to treat yourself and the birthday boy too, yum! You’re absolutely right too, even the ugliest thing to one person is stunningly beautiful to another person. That question is rather judge-y isn’t it? (my bad) I’m fully in the sprouts haters’ club. I feel sorry for anyone who has a tradition of eating those things. But again, one person’s worst food is someone else’s feast…. Happy Holidays and have a festive special week!
