That’s Amore

The painting below is called The Guitar Player by José Ferraz de Almeida Júnior and was found at Wikimedia Commons.

Singing the song of love, remembering a youth filled with sharing, and growing as a couple. Remembering the children, as they toddled, marched, and flew the nest. Now the two of them sang like they did when they were eighteen.

They remembered the trips down the river, in a little boat, made for two. The day he proposed. Or his non proposal. ”I reckon we should get married”. The answer would always be yes, but she wouldn’t tell him that.

Thirty four years and their love covered the globe in a beautiful song. His guitar playing, her singing and they were meant to be together.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
