This reminds me about the song in Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang. An old man ”Professor Caractacus Potts” getting kidnapped while he is in his shed and singing a song about being posh.
Oh the posh posh traveling life, the traveling life for me
First cabin and captain’s table regal company.
I found it funny because he was in what looked like a toilet at the time.
I love all the old musical films – Bed knobs and Broomsticks, Mary Poppins, Singing in the rain and even the Wizard of Oz. We saw it so much at Christmas, you would know all the words.
Animated films like Bambi, (my first film I saw with my Dad and Mum) Snow White was another favourite.
I also love the new films recently released.
Encanto, a Disney original is the last one I have watched. It shows a world of change. Not only does the female lead not need any man to save her, but we see the other side of those around her. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses, they gain strength from each other.
I’m a crier, at any emotional song, in any film. Having said that I will cry at a happy ending, and sad ending. In Guardians of the Galaxy, I cried when they played the song at the end because it reminded me of my own relationship with my dad.
I’m glad I grew up when I did. and have great memories of both animated and live films.
