If there are only three things in life that truly matter, what do you think they are and why did you choose those three?
First, and always first is my family and friends. I grew up with a big extended family, and we might not see each other a lot, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love each other deeply. Being a few hours drive away, it is difficult to meet up every day, but it doesn’t mean I don’t think about them. I moved to the town I now live in, because my daughter couldn’t buy a house where we originally lived. In some ways, I don’t regret moving, because I get to see my granddaughter every day, but it is difficult to see family at home because it is a two hour drive. My best friend lives in America. We have been friends since I was twelve years old, and she moved with her family at the age of 15. We are still close, and miles don’t stop us being besties.
Honesty is my second. I feel it is important to be honest with people, and do the right thing. I was brought up to own up to any mistakes, and make things better. I might well be too honest sometimes, but I tend to think before I speak.
My third is understanding, we are all too quick to judge if we see a homeless person on the streets begging, but if we were to walk in their shoes, we would understand that none of us can say we are perfect. If they have no home, it is likely their job opportunities are going to be less. The country, as a whole, needs to do something about a system which fails to help those in need.
