Sharing My World

QUESTIONS

What very common thing have you never done?

I have never been abroad for a holiday. I have always been in the UK. I would like to go to Italy (where my dad was stationed in the second world war). If I had enough money I would book a holiday to Hawaii.

Are we morally obligated to be charitable, if we have the means to? I try and give to charity when I can. If you cannot afford it then you shouldn’t feel obligated. Sometimes you don’t need to give a lot (I’ve learnt that from my children) to make it mean something.

What is the most amazing fact you know? That caves are made by destructive waves, and over time can disappear altogether.

What’s your favorite sandwich and why? It has to be a chip buttie (a chip sandwich, with tomato ketchup)

GRATITUDE SECTION   (As always optional)

Please feel free to share something you find inspires you. My children inspire me because I have learnt a lot from them. They have a kindness around other people, and a better understanding of the world. Our parents teach us, but change is possible for all of us.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Thank you Diana for Sharing Your World. It is true that kindness and charity (giving selflessly) doesn’t have to depend on monetary or worldly wealth. Giving of time is sometimes a very welcome thing, and it costs relatively nothing. Or being a friend when someone needs one. Your children sound like they were raised by a conscientious mom! A chip buttie? Okay now ‘chips’ over the pond there are our ‘French fries” right? Only thicker and longer I think. I love me some French fries now and again, of course drenched in ketchup. One fast food place has officially begun to put fries on their triple burger, a thing which patrons have been doing as long as I’ve been alive. It is very unique and tasty! Your sandwich sounds very delicious! 🙂 I didn’t know that about caves, except near the ocean…fascinating fact indeed! 🙂 I’ve never been out of the U.S.A. except briefly to Canada one year. My family couldn’t afford vacations (holidays) to Europe or even Hawaii, we hadn’t the funds. So I get your answer. I also hope you get your trips some time! 🙂 Have a wonderful week!
