Energize

Inspired by Fandango and Wordle.

As the mists of dawn awoke the quiet, sleeping birds stretched the tips of their wings, a sang their first song. Energized, they whirred into the sky, their wings shouldered against the brazen breeze.

Another beautiful day, even when if it was raining.

Dew dripped off the long stems of the daffodils, their beautiful heads lifted towards the droplets. Energized, their petals opened, waiting for the sun to peek its head out of the clouds.

They laughed with the blades of grass, as the rain slowed down to a halt. Petals spread their wings, ready to soar through the wisps of silver smoke. Cold, the sun held no comfort today.

Spring had ground to a temporary halt, and winter decided it was his turn. Soft flakes of snow dropped into their smiling faces. They bunched together, their protection to stop the cold passing through their delicate limbs.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
