Gnarly

A gnarly tree, in the middle of nowhere.

Why was Stella here? In this forgotten place, where even witches feared to tread. Fortunes could be won, but also lost. Your future in a crowd of broken hearts. She needed to know whether her marriage was true.

Love, lies, and a feeling that she couldn’t shake.

He said he loved her – nobody else would ever be enough – yet the disappearance of his first wife never answered. His strong alibi meant he wasn’t to blame, but what of others around him.

His family (son, daughter, sister) were never under suspicion. Yet there was something about them. There lack of compassion? They carried on with their own lives, like she never existed.

Her husband to be grieved enough for all of them, until they found each other. Two human beings trying to be there for each other. She hated her suspicion – this was the only way to find out the truth.

A gnarly tree in the middle of nowhere.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
