Custard

Custard, a word prompt from https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/author/talesfromthemindofkristian/ .

Custard goes with most delicious things.

My favourite is treacle pudding. I love hot custard, with the treacle. It also is a great addition to things like apple pie, crumble, or just on its own. As a child I put it with ice-cream and cream.

When I went to school we had pink custard with cake. I’m not sure why, but it brings me to when I was a child. School dinners weren’t great, but they did lovely puddings (apart from prunes). Ambrosia still sell pink custard.

Custard is comforting. A bowl of hot, steaming goodness, on a cold day can make the world seem a better place. Even without anything else it tastes great. I love custard, especially in the winter.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
