Today, the word of the day from https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/author/embeecee/ is squeamish.

‘It can’t harm you its dead,’ Tom said.

Sarah looked at the dead bird on her lawn, and knew he made sense, but even the thought of touching it made her want to be sick. Tom, sat on the sofa, didn’t get up when she screamed.

‘You know the deal, I catch all the spiders. Do you not remember waking me up at two o’clock in the morning because Fred the spider made an appearance on the floor.’

‘That was different, it was at least . . . well it was big by spider standards. I don’t like them, you know I don’t.’

‘And I don’t like mice or dead birds. If you don’t pick this pigeon up, then I will leave you on your own next time Fred reappears.’

Heaving himself up from his chair, Tom said, ‘alright, but you need to open up the bin lid.’
