My favourite colour is red, mostly because it was my dad’s favourite colour. He loved roses. Next door had a red rose bush, and he loved seeing it in bloom. My dad and I were close, and I miss him every day.
I was seventeen when he died, but I will never forget the impression he had in my life. He taught me humility, an understanding for others, and he always thought of others before himself.
Every time I see a rose bush, I think of him.
My favourite letter is R, because it always reminds me of summer, and a time when flowers bloom. It is the start of my favourite colour and rose. Reading a row of words starting with r is really rather good.

Good thoughts to remember. It can be the tiniest little thing that wakens our memories.
Sometimes those tiny things clutter up my closets and drawers. My kids will have to clean them out someday. I can’t. 😦
