Ring Toss

A word prompt from sammiscribbles.worpress.com and to write a story, poem in 86 words.

A Jamboree fair, as the days of summer bring a new light to the village. Tamara stood at the entrance, and looked forward to the day when she would win the biggest prize there.

She had been there every year, since she was five years old, and practiced the ring toss at home. Now, she was sure of winning that invaluable prize.

Standing at the terrifying tent, she handed over two pounds – if she didn’t win it this year, then it would be too late.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
