The only ghost that scares is a past version of you, were the words trickling through her dreams. Night after night, spirits would call their warning. A low growl, followed by a dark hum and she would see things happen she did not want to see.

A warped sense of a glum future, a time where the whole world is falling into little pieces around her, and there was nothing she could do. Everywhere she would run to, the landscape would crumble around, and fall.

She was lost, her bones aching, as the land split into fire and there was nothing she could do. Run? Where to? Each road fell apart, just like the rest. And then she would wake up, hear the birds singing, and it was all a dream, a myth into which she fell into.

Willowy images remained, and she knew it was a dream, but there were so many of the same type just lately. Her mind trying to send her a message, that none of this was her fault. She wasn’t sure, but dreams like that always unsettled her.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
