Sentence

A slightly different approach to https://reinventionsreena.wordpress.com/2022/09/08/reenas-xploration-challenge-247/ and a video of someone writing but writing just one sentence instead.

Any thought that passes through you is good enough, as long as you can express it one sentence. The sentence can be two words or as long as you can stretch it. It’s perfectly okay if it looks like a paragraph or stanza.

We’ve all been there, however much life experience we have.

Fingers poised at the keyboard, or pen in hand, and nothing . . .

Either there is no inspiration, and our brains our telling us we should give up on writing. I think that is a writer’s lot. I have found, if I try and write straight from work, everything is rubbish.

I hit that delete button more than you can imagine.

Now, I write at the same time every day – it helps. Not that my first draft isn’t rubbish. It so is! But I’m not as concerned about it. Just getting something on the page is enough for me. I tend to write on my blog after work though. It depends on my mood, or how tired I am, but if I can only do one post, then that’s enough.

Sometimes, like today, the question is thought provoking, and I find it easy just to write. If it isn’t a story, I’m just putting my thoughts on to the page. Sometimes, I’ve got nothing and it’s that . . . delete . . . moment.

Today, I have managed to type without deleting, well not much . . . but at least I have written something.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
