https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/author/talesfromthemindofkristian/ and their word of the day – Beaming.
Beaming, James brought his mum his masterpiece.
His teacher said it was the best painting, and that his use of colour on the trees was imaginative. It didn’t matter that they were all different – yellow, green, red, blue, purple (he would have painted some with glitter, but he had used the last of it on the flowers.
‘Wow, that is so beautiful darling,’ his mum said, putting it on the front of the fridge. ‘I especially love the glitter, and Mummy is wearing her summer hat, with her warm jumper.’
‘It is so the sun won’t hurt your eyes Mummy, and that you might get cold.’
‘Brilliant! I think you are so clever.’
‘I am, I love painting Mummy. Can I have a ‘yoghurt?’
‘You can and a glass of milk, painting is hard work.’
It didn’t matter that the trees were the same size as the flowers, or that she had six fingers on her hand, but she didn’t care. Her son created something special, and it would be put with the rest of his masterpieces.
I love the motif of beauty is in the eyes of the beholder throughout this! Great work!

My fridge also became a gallery of art. I still have one picture of whales and dolphins done for me by my niece in 1990.
